Dare to Compare – Wartime pilots fly the icons

Former foes together in the sky again! In a super rare shot over Lake Ontario, Canada near South Niagara, pilot John Romain in this stunning Me 109E pairs up with Alan Walker at the controls of this Hurricane Mk XII. Both of these warbirds were part of Ed Russell’s “Aviation Group” collection at the time of the shoot. The 109 is now based at the Biggin Hill Heritage Hangar in Westerham, UK, and the Hurricane is owned by Galway Scone Pty, New South Wales, Australia.
